As the times have changed, so have toys. Nowadays you have remote control trucks, computer games and the like.
Things are not as simple as they once were, and our children are growing up with completely different ideas about life because of it. For example, many new Monopoly games come with a credit card rather than cash. Should we really be teaching our children that it is okay to use a credit card for every purchase? There is one difference in the credit cards in the game and the credit cards that we use as adults&mdashthe Monopoly credit cards do not let you spend more money than you have in your account. How will our children know that real credit cards do not cut you off when you run out of money? Our credit cards allow you to spend money that you do not have. We are setting our children up to be in debt. The best solution is to go back to simple games that do not give children unrealistic ideas about money. |
