About My No Hassle Car Purchase

posted on 15 November 2012

It really is amazing what you can buy online these days - my friend recently bought Sunbeam car parts for his classic car for example. As for me - well, I recently purchased a used Lexus RX 300 from CarVision.com and it was a rather pleasant experience. I first did research on what type of car I wanted (in this case a luxury SUV). Then I searched the web in order to get some idea on the price range that I could expect for this type of vehicle with between 20,000 and 30,000 miles. After doing my research I went on to several different “no hassle” car sales sites. I searched carvision.com, carmax.com and carsence.com to name a few. After reviewing each of them and comparing their prices and inventory of vehicles, I decided to visit carvison.com in person. I was able to set up a date and time to test drive the car with no issue at all. As soon as I go there, the staff was very helpful and I was driving shortly after that. After the test drive they answered any and all questions that I had and noted any issues that I have with the vehicle. From there it was just a matter of doing paperwork since the price was non-negotiable. If negotiating the price on a car is not your cup of tea, this is the way to go.Other Sources: instructables.com | movieroomreviews.com | www.rattrayspares.co.uk

Why BMW Vehicles Will Always Be a Hot Commodity

posted on 10 September 2012

When I think of luxury cars, a few makers come to mind, but none more so prominently than BMW. For years now, BMW have been dishing out automobiles that are everything any man or woman could ask for. Top of the line in performance, comfort, luxury, and reliability, and anyone who says driving down a crowded street in a BMW won't turn heads has obviously never set foot behind the wheel of one themselves. It's also quite comforting to know that if you're going to shell out to acquire a BMW for yourself, you can breathe easily knowing the resale value of your car should you ever decide to get rid of it will always be high. Why is that exactly? The answer is simple. For all of the reasons I have listed above, BMW's will forever remain a hot commodity. Perfect for any type of driver, and the perfect luxury car for a drive in the city, or those unforgettable special occasions. My friend recently took her BMW for a BMW service in London, and hardly any work was requried on it. Whatever your lifestyle, you simply can't go wrong with a BMW.More on this Topic: snopes.com | slideshare.net | metacafe.com

My Car Hire Experience and Benefits

posted on 11 May 2012

I work for a car hire firm in Hinckley and I was recently asked to remember my own experiences of hiring a car. One of the reasons why I like car rental reminds of my experience as an exchange student in Helsinki, Finland. Two of my roommates and I decided to rent a car in order to go on a 14 hour trip to the North Cape, a beautiful cliff in the Northern Norway, where the northernmost point of Europe is. We got an Opel Astra, a mid-sized compact vehicle for a fairly decent price, along with insurance and a GPS unit. The car was barely driven and in an absolutely great condition. It was obvious that the rental agency took good care of their cars. Car rentals are great for people who are going on short trips, or simply want to avoid dealing with the stress and rush of public transportation in a place where their car is not available. It is something that gives you freedom, even when you are not in a familiar place.

Every Eight Year Old Van Has Clothes Hangers in the Back

posted on 6 May 2012

Years ago I went to a library book sale with a friend of a friend named Gary who I had never met before. But he had a van, which was important, as we both planned to stock up on lots of books to sell online. His van was kitted out with van racks so we could even pile the books in the back in some kind of orderly fashion. After I loaded up my handcart, I made a trip out to the parking lot to drop them off into Gary's van. I noticed the rent-a-cop and a woman next to our van trying to get into her car. I went over, noticed that they had managed to get the windows open about an inch with the rent-a-cop's slimjim, and saw her keys lying by the stickshift. I asked if those were her keys, she said, "Yes". I went to Gary's van, dug around in back, and found a old wire clothes hanger. I unwound it, went over to the woman's car, and fished out her keys. Of course, there were plenty of snide comments like "Bet this is the first time you did that with owner around" and "Pretty nervy doing that with the cops looking on". Gary had come back to unload during this time and saw what was happening. "So Mike, how did you know I had clothes hangers in the back of my van?". I replied, "State law, Gary. Every van over 5 years old has to have clothes hangers in back". And that's how I meet one of my best friends to this day.

Saving Money by Sharing Your Car With Neighbours

posted on 4 May 2012

While I love my new vauxhall corsa, no car can escape the rising fuel costs. And talking to my neighbour, it was clear he was suffering from rising fuel costs. Then an idea was born: why not share car trips? We tried it for one week and we both were astonished by the results. Whenever one of us needed to go shopping, we agreed to drive with just one car. Not only did we save money by sharing our car, but we both found out how to help each other in other ways as well (e.g. I do hate mowing the lawn, but my neighbour had a vehicle to do this). I do consider this one of the best ways to save money. Just ask a friend or a colleague to drive with just one car and you will be astonished by all the savings that are possible this way. After I told everybody about this method of saving money, my whole family does this now, too!Other Sources: instructables.com | movieroomreviews.com | mapquest.com | telegraph.co.uk

Untidy Streets in my Town are Affecting Me Negatively

posted on 18 February 2012

In my town there is a weekly street festival that is basically a giant barbecue. This street festival takes place at night and attracts locals and tourists with the food and the music. A downside of this festival is that, much of the food sold is oily in nature, and the oil from that food, spilled beer and other drinks, bits of food and soil from natural passage and use has caused the streets to have a permanent dark stain. A person observing the street will note that the stain is caused by the street party as the dark patch extends along the route used by the vendors and nowhere else. The stained streets, besides having a negative aesthetic impact, are giving the neighborhood a rundown look and make the place somewhat disgusting to be in during the day. My friend's self drive compact sweeper hire company is about the only thing benefitting from this! At night, its fine because the lights aren’t that bright and everyone is concerned with enjoying themselves, but persons who live there find that they can no longer stand their hometown and long to move away. It would be nice if the mayor would find some way to hose down the streets with a solvent or some kind of detergent, because when one considers the impact of those streets on overall health, the idea of washing down a street may not seem so strange. Dirt from the road tends to stick to the underside of one’s shoes which then get tracked into cars, buildings, homes, shops and other areas of high traffic. Even if the dirt cannot be perceived by the human eye it is surely making its way to the human body in some form or another. Someone should do a study on the number of illnesses that arise before and after the street party. Cleaning the streets would lessen the negative health impacts, and give the daylight neighborhood a boost in morale.

Why Is It That Too Many Motocross Bikes Are Just Too Damned Loud?

posted on 28 January 2012

Almost every motocross bike I've ever ridden or been around has just been too damned loud because of the exhaust systems. You don't need that much of wide open "bad ass" sounding muffler to go dirt-bike riding, unless you're so insecure that you're trying to impress someone or you're riding in traffic where you shouldn't be and want to ensure that operators of other vehicles see you - why not yet your motocross gear do that? I have always been annoyed when riding in the woods that all the animals are scared away. It's far more productive to take 10 to 20 times as long to cover the same amount of ground on foot and have some type of relationship with nature other than intrusive and destructive. We all know how the specialized tires chew of the dirt, killing tender plants and causing erosion. Because of the choice of machine and the way they're built the dirt biker, unless he or she is riding indoors is definitely not a friend of nature or the environment. In fact, I'd go as far as to suggest that owners of the bikes should have to obtain some type of permit to allow them the blow the excessive amount of exhaust in the atmosphere and to destroy flora and terrain. If you do not think dirt bikes are disruptive and loud then perhaps you have never ridden one, been around one or are stone deaf. Thank you.
